Animated video – Sketches and Teaser

I am definitely excited about my animated video for On the Level coming out soon!   So excited, in fact, that here I am blogging about it when I am dead tired and have to get up in 7 hours.  The fire alarm went off in my building last night at 4:30am.  Everyone had to go outside and stand in the cold for an hour or so.  Actually, cold is a severe understatement.  But I got out of bed, got dressed, grabbed my flute (the only thing I immediately thought of possibly saving), and went outside.  The alarm sounded like my clock radio beep but a million times louder.  It is likely designed to be so annoying that you need to leave before you eardrums explode.  Thankfully, it was a false alarm.

Anyway, back on topic: Here are some drawings of the majority of the characters.   Pictured first is myself with drummer Adam Bowman.  I just received the image of Chris Rouse (the vocalist) a few minutes ago.  The guitarist (Jesse Bear) is the last to be completed.  You’ll have to wait till the full video to see him.

I’ve always had this dream for the video to be animated so I am glad I found the best people to work with on making that come into reality (namely, “Timian” and “Brian Engh.”) Oh, and If you haven’t seen the trailor be sure to watch it below!  And go to jefkearns.com to pick up my album “On the Level.”  I appreciate the support 🙂

Adam Bowman (drums), Jef Kearns (flute)

Chris Rouse a.k.a. HominyManChild

Jef Kearns is a Soul Flautist proving the flute can be quite animated.
