People have told me they heard my music on CBC radio. I never had. I wanted to because it is Canada’s largest broadcaster. However, I do not find myself with a lot of time to listen to the radio so was never able to snatch that moment of audible victory up.
When I was on the phone with my mom last week I received an email from CBC. They were asking about the credits on one of my songs because they wanted to play it on Metro Morning and promote an upcoming gig of mine.
Keep in mind that this show is on from 5:30am to 8:30am. Getting up at 5:30am is something my body does not want any part of. The day before it was to play they told me it would be on at 5:50am. My body still wanted no part of it. Luckily, I have an application on my iPod Touch with which I can record radio programs.
I set it to start recording at 5:30am and set it on the vacant pillow beside me. I woke up at 5:40am … intuition blasting my eyelids open. The stream somehow lost connection so it didn’t start recording. I never felt so lucky to be startled out of sleep so early. I got up and reset the router. Thankfully getting this recording to share with you:
P.S. This is probably the first time in his radio career that Matt Galloway has said “Give it up for the flute.”
And here is another Audible Victory from BBC Introducing:
Jef Kearns is a Soul Flautist who wants you to check out The Electric Flute Project
