Canada’s Got Talent

Canada’s Got Talent is coming in 2012.  I am thinking about trying out.   If Julian Smith can make it to the Britain’s Got Talent finals playing saxophone, I do not see why I couldn’t by doing what I do on flute.

So, I have been wracking my brain trying to think of what song I would audition with.  Maybe one of my own so I can at least collect a bunch of royalties if it airs.   Or perhaps my rendition of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face would go over better as it is more familiar yet turned sideways into a hip hop instrumental version.   Or maybe my rewrite of the melody on Hall and Oates “Sara Smile.”

Some people would say that being on a show like that is selling out or  not a respectable way to go about getting yourself heard.  But, I am of the opinion that you should play anywhere, anytime for anyone who will listen.  I have a gift, I want to share it, and I want to be able to make a living off doing it.
